Copper decorative objects and miniatures are small pieces that stand alone on a shelf or table, modest in function but decisive in look. The choice is made by size and finish. The range holds a hand-hammered napkin holder and scale-model miniatures of the handled cup and the pail. BakırBul supplies them to trade buyers, quoted per order.

The napkin holder comes in several finishes; the miniature handled cup and the miniature pail pails are scaled-down versions of real pieces from the catalogue, made the same way as their full-size counterparts.

What these pieces are for

The napkin holder, as the name says, keeps paper napkins upright. It measures 12 cm wide, 24 cm long and 6 cm high, sized for a standard kitchen napkin. At 0.70 mm sheet and a weight of about 624 grams, it does not tip over when full. Because it is a piece that stays on the table rather than in a drawer, it is made in four finishes: polished copper, oxidised, nickel-plated and brushed matt.

The miniature handled cup and pails are purely decorative objects. The handled cup is 7 cm tall and holds 110 ml, and weighs 54 grams. The pails come in No. 1 and No. 2, at about 4.5 cm and 6 cm across, weighing 32 and 50 grams. Small as they are, they go through the same production steps as their full-size versions and are tinned inside in the traditional way. They are used in threes on a shelf, in front of books or in a display cabinet, and gift retailers and event planners order them as wedding favours and small gifts.

How to choose

  • Which metal is already on the table: if the cutlery is silver-tone or steel, a nickel-plated napkin holder fits; if wood and earth tones dominate, polished copper or oxidised sits better.
  • How much shine: brushed matt is satin and scatters light; polished copper reflects it and draws the eye.
  • Size of the miniatures: a piece of 4.5 to 7 cm gets lost on its own; two or three together make sense.
  • Care allowance: on a napkin holder that is handled often, fingerprints are unavoidable, and brushed matt shows them least.
  • Purpose: a napkin holder is an everyday object and is touched constantly; miniatures stand on a shelf, so they keep their shine longer.

Small on their own, these pieces form a meaningful group together. A common arrangement is the napkin holder in the centre of a table with two small miniatures on each side. Another is three pieces of different heights in a row on a kitchen shelf. Because their sizes are close, none overshadows the others.

Caring for small pieces

This group does not meet food constantly, so care is easy. A dry, soft cloth is enough for dusting. If the surface has dulled, rubbing with salt on half a lemon, then rinsing in warm water and drying, brings the look back; do not rub oxidised pieces, or the aged effect will come off. Do not leave water or drinks standing in the miniature vessels: moisture left inside marks the surface. The dishwasher is not suitable for these pieces either. There is no lacquer on them, so the surface can always be refreshed.

Small work at the bench

The hardest pieces in a workshop are not always the biggest. A miniature pail goes through the same number of operations as a full-size one, but the margin for error is far narrower: on a body 6 cm across, a handle joint that shifts by a millimetre is visible at a glance. In the copper workshops of Kahramanmaraş these small pieces are often seen as an exercise of hand and eye, which is why they tend to be among the most carefully made objects in the catalogue.

What drives the unit cost of decorative copper objects

The pieces in this section share no common size; weight runs from about 32 grams to 624 grams, and most of the cost difference comes from that range. The second factor is technique: hand-hammered pieces carry more labour than smooth ones. Finish comes third and varies across four options. Compare pieces of similar size; setting two objects of different sizes side by side misleads. We do not publish prices; we quote per order from your list, including any gift packaging you need.

Models and sizes

With decorative objects, the choice follows where the piece will stand: the size of an object for a shelf, a side table or a display is set by that space. Sheet thickness runs from 0.50 to 0.70 millimetres; this group meets neither fire nor food in daily use, so thick sheet is not needed.

Here the finish is part of the look, not of the function. Polished copper stands warm and bright, oxidised dark and aged, nickel-plated silver-tone, and brushed matt in a low sheen. The same object in two finishes can look entirely different in the same room. The full-size pails these miniatures are modelled on are under copper pails and buckets (pail), and gift buyers will find seasonal and occasion ideas in copper anniversary and wedding gifts.

Frequently asked questions

Can you drink from the miniature copper handled cup?

You can, because the inside is tinned in the traditional way. Even so, at 110 ml it is designed as a decorative object rather than a cup in daily use; do not leave acidic drinks standing in it.

How many napkins does the napkin holder take?

Its inner size is made for a standard square kitchen napkin, and it takes an ordinary pack comfortably. The exact number depends on how thick the napkins are.

Are the miniatures meant for babies or children to play with?

No. “Miniature” describes the reduced size of the piece. They are hard metal objects, some with small parts such as a handle, and they are decorative pieces for adults, not playthings for children.

Can I build a set from the same series?

Yes; the pieces are listed individually, so any combination can go on one order. Keep to the same finish. To complete a shelf, see copper vases and candle holders and candlesticks, or browse the whole group under copper home décor.
